How To Design A Metal Bench

If you decide to design a high-quality homemade product, you first need to develop a detailed plan and drawings for future products.
It is important to consider that the size parameters of future metal structures are strictly selected separately. Suggest considering some rules before starting work:

The length of the bench must be determined at a speed of 0.6 meters per person;
The minimum width of the product should not exceed 30 centimeters;
The back height must exceed 30 centimeters;
The angle between the seat and backrest can range from 105 to 120 degrees, making sitting on a bench very comfortable;

The height parameter of the workbench should be calculated based on the length of the tibia, and in most cases, it is 38-45 centimeters.

If the bench is higher than 45 centimeters, the legs of the person sitting on it will hang on it. If this parameter is less than 30 centimeters, the knee will have to bend into a sharp angle, which has a negative impact on blood circulation and can cause unpleasant sensations in the legs.
All dimensions of the metal bench you want to make must be included in the drawings of future self-made products

Tools and materials

If you want to create a high-quality iron stool by yourself, the master definitely needs to stock up on all the necessary materials and tools:

Special shaped pipe (diameter must be selected based on future self-made preparation drawings and the operating characteristics you designed);

The master will design the backrest and seats of the bench based on these boards;
High quality welding machine;
Welding machine electrode (3mm);
Grinding machines or hacksaws used for metal processing;
A disc designed specifically for grinding machines and metal processing;
Drill bit;
Documents;
Level;
Roulette wheel betting;
Aircraft;
Metal paint;
Wood paint;
Nuts and bolts;
Pliers.

Frame

To make a base for the seat, it is necessary to connect the components in the profile tube in the shape of the letter "P".
You need to prepare detailed information on the back. The upper part needs to be bent within a radius of 300-400 millimeters.
It is necessary to connect the back components to the U-shaped base through a welding machine. Expect to attach the backrest to the seat at an obtuse angle. For this, the lower part of the part can be slightly bent.
All prepared components of the future workbench need to be connected through long pipe sections. Two of them require horizontal connections and two require vertical connections. If additional components are welded between its legs, the design will be more robust. We must strengthen the diagonal elements of the bench.
In the lower part of the metal frame base, as well as the side and back areas, additional forged parts can be welded to form floral decorations or elegant patterns.
Special "patches" should be welded to the supporting legs of the structure to make the workbench more stable when on the ground.
The metal components of the product need to be coated with a primer mixture and enamel.

Seats And Backrests

It is necessary to saw and cut pre cooked and thoroughly dried boards or rods according to the dimensions shown in the drawings.
The details made of wood must be treated and polished with an electric planer. After carefully cleaning the wooden elements, it is necessary to apply a protective solution and then apply decorative enamel.
It is necessary to connect a 50x50mm rod to the shorter part of the metal frame base in the seat and backrest area. It is best to secure them with screws with washers and nuts.
In addition, by using self tapping screws, you need to connect the wooden components used for the seat and bench backrest to the pole. To make the head of the self tapping screw slightly recessed into the material, you need to drill a hole on the upper part with a suitable diameter drill bit.
It is best to cover the hardware with putty and match the colors perfectly.
